2. the bed mattress should be changed every 10 years. Keep in mind that its specific elasticity must yield without excesses under the heaviest parts of your body (shoulders and pelvis), ideally, it offers support in the less heavy areas.
3. If you buy a new mattress and place it on an old base or that is of poor quality, you will take years of useful life from the mattress, that is why it is recommended to change the bed completely.
4. for a good rest in bed, the mattress should be at least 15 centimeters thick; and its length must be 10 centimeters more than your height and the minimum recommended width for the bed, must be 80 centimeters if it is a single bed and 135 centimeters for a double bed.
5. The bed base must be firm and even. Try to choose one with rigid bases with free spaces so that it has better ventilation.
6. The pillow should fit your head, neck length, and shoulder width.
7. If you sleep on your back, the pillow should be a little flat and soft, to ensure that the cervical spine forms the same angle with the spine as when you are standing. If you sleep on your side, the pillow should be higher and harder, so that your neck stays in the axis of the spine making sure it does not fall or rotate.
